Dr. Brua replaces Dr. John Ahlemeyer, Superintendent for the last 10 years, who has been offered and has accepted the Superintendent position at Maroa-Forsyth CUSD #2 in downstate Illinois beginning July 1, 2017. The District has been honored to work with Dr. Ahlemeyer during a portion of his career, which also includes a total of 29 years of service to the students of Lake County. Prior to his time at Gavin, Dr. Ahlemeyer held teaching positions at Oak Grove School District #68 and administrative posts at Hawthorn School District #73. On behalf of the entire Gavin Family and community, the Board of Education wants to express our deepest thanks and appreciation for all of the years of dedicated service Dr. Ahlemeyer has provided. We wish him our best as he transitions into his new position.
